Remote Tool Setup

After installing ITCloudSoft, connect remote devices to your Asset Tool server in five steps.

  1. Sign In to ITCloudSoft

Open the installed ITCloudSoft application on your PC or server and sign in.

  2. Open Remote Session

Select Remote Session in the left sidebar, then open its download page.

  3. Download AssetRemote

Download AssetRemote.exe and its server-specific AssetRemote.config.json, or the ZIP containing both.

  4. Connect to Your Server

Keep both files together on the device you want to support. Run AssetRemote and choose install or portable mode. Its configuration points to your Asset Tool server.

  5. Start Remote Support

Request a session from Remote Session in ITCloudSoft. Complete host approval and permissions, then view or control the device when connected.

Your ITCloudSoft application acts as the remote support server. Devices must be able to reach it; public internet connections, including Azure hosting, require configured HTTPS/WSS access and a remote relay. Portable mode cannot control Windows login or UAC screens.

Remote Support

  1. Download AssetRemote.exe and its server-specific AssetRemote.config.json from the portal's Remote download page, or download the ZIP containing both.
  2. Keep the two files together. Run the client and choose its offered install or portable workflow.
  3. Have an authorized technician request a support session. Complete the applicable host approval and permission flow.
  4. Start viewing/control only after the connection is ready. End the session when support is finished.
  5. Installing AssetRemote updates the asset's saved RAM, processor, and other hardware details and prompts you to save it to inventory if missing. Use portable mode to run the remote tool without installing it.

Install location: %LocalAppData%\ITCloudSoft\AssetRemote. Portable mode cannot control Windows login, secure desktop, or UAC screens; elevation still requires Windows prompts. Internet or cross-network sessions need a configured WSS relay (not set up by the download). If the connection drops, start a new approved session.
