Overview & Prerequisites

Asset Tool manages inventory, assignments, returns, transfers, maintenance, audits, reporting, and discovery. Use a Windows host for the packaged application, administrator access for installation, and a reachable MongoDB database. Features depend on the activated subscription and the signed-in user's permissions.

Choose local MongoDB to keep database storage on your infrastructure, or configure a remote/cloud MongoDB connection. Storage location depends on your configuration; cloud database use is not entirely on premises. Network scans run from the application server, not the computer displaying the browser.
